The Crime of Nationalized Healthcare Part 1: Cancer

Provocative title isn’t it?  Well, sadly there is a lot of truth in that title.

The best example of which is the situation of Barbara Wagner.  Barbara Wagner is a Cancer Patient who is on the State Run Oregon Health Care system, or as I refer to it, Oregoncare.  When she was diagnosed with Cancer, the State of Oregon sent her an unsigned letter sayign that, while it would not pay for her cancer medication, as it, like the NHS over in the UK, does not cover life extending drugs, it would pay for her euthenasia.

It was not until the “EVIL” drug companies stepped in and donated a full course of treatment, that she had any real options.

Similar incidents occur all across the United Kingdom, Canada, and Scotland, where they have a Nationalized Healthcare System.

These systems are so bad, that there is a growing industry known as Medical Tourism, with the United States and Hungary as the two primary destination spots.  While Hungary is the home of dentistry in Europe, as British Dentists do not get paid once they surpass the NHS Quota, and thus have no incentive to continue to work.  This leaves seven million British Citizens without access to Dentistry within their own country.

And now, we find out that the Massachusets Health Care System is collapsing under it’s own weight in spectacular, California Government Style.

We are seeing time and again, across the board, that this system does not work, so please, tell, me, WHY are we trying to copy these crimes here in the United States?

Healthcare: The Progressive Insurance Solution

I was watching TV, when I saw the following commercials for Progressive Auto Insurance.

Progressive Insurance sells Home, Automative, Motorcycle, Truck, RV, Boat, and even Segway Insurance.  And so, I wonder, why not Life and Health Insurance?

The whole policy of Progressive Insurance is that you name your price, or you choose your own services, and build your own insurance.  If you live in a desert, you don’t need to worry about a tree falling on your home.  Similarly, I don’t need pregnancy insurance in my Health Insurance, because I am an unmarried male.

And yet, the State and Federal Government mandates that I must have Pregnancy Insurance in my Health Insurance.  It makes no sense.  Let me buy what I want, and ignore the rest.

McCain suggested this, and the idea was destroyed through media savy Democratic Operatives who refused to understand what exactly he was suggesting.

Let the Free Market fidn the solution.  Remove the chains upon the Invisible Hand.  It will work out.

But that would mean lifting the chains off the shoulders of the People, and that is something that the Government can not allow.  After all, we might vote them out.

Unrest in Honduras

Wow, Honduras is in an interesting situation right now.  And Obama, unlike Iran, where we need to do something to support those striving to acheive Democracry, you need to stay out.  If you interfere, you will be setting up a tin pot dictator, and stepping on a Democracy that is not even thirty years old.

President Manuel Zalaya was acting in violation of the constitution of the nation of Honduras, and thus the Army was ordered in by the Supreme Court to depose the Chavez backed Zelaya.

I must say, Mr. President, it worries me that you are acting in support of Dictators in Iran and Honduras, and in opposition to the very ideas enshrined in the Declaration of Indpendence.

It scares me that you do not think that the Constitution lists rights granted by the government to the people, and not restrictions to the powers of the Government, as granted by the people.

As the President of the United States, you should be standing up for the right to Life, Liberty, Property.  These rights are not granted to man by the government, but rather by God.  We give Government the power to protect these rights through the use of laws, the creation of a central monetary system, and the creation of an Army and Navy.

Remember, this is a government of the People, for the People, by the People.  Not of the Government, for the Government, and by the Government.

If you want to show your support for Democracy, do not stand with Hugo Chavez in backing Zelaya.  Do not support Iran as they murder their own people for yearning for Freedom.  Support the people of Iraq as they struggle through the birth pains of a democracy, not unlike the ones we worked through under the Articles of Confederation.  Stand up for South Korea as they are forced to face down their beligerent neighbors and brothers.  Support Israel, the only established Democracy surrounded by genocidal enemies who seek only to drive them into the sea.

Please, Mr. President, stand with the ideals that our Founding Fathers enshrined within the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and support Honduras as Chavez threatens to turn them into a puppet state.
